About

My name is Brooke and I’m the owner of Black Moon Botanica, a magical new shop in the historic heart of Edinburgh’s old town, in Scotland.

I’ve been making candles since I was a teenager, with a lifelong interest in natural magic and ancient traditions, and studied Herbology at the Royal Botanical Gardens Edinburgh. My dream was to open a store that could offer an eclectic and personally curated collection of beautiful tarot, artwork, sustainably sourced crystals, herbs, books, and most importantly, handmade artisan candles. Situated on historic Candlemaker Row, I’m bringing candlemaking back to its original home from the 1600s.

The location is of personal significance for me, as several generations of my family lived directly above the shop.

What I do

Products

I’m working with independent artists and artisans, many of whom are based in Scotland, to offer a beautiful collection of magical supplies and traditional artisan candles. All container and moulded candles are vegan-friendly and 100% soy wax. I also offer natural hand-dipped botanical beeswax candles and several other options.

In additional to the candles, books, crystals and divination, I offer small-batch, organic (where available) herbs and flowers for personal or ritual use. I can advise on a suitable blend or you can mix and match your favourites.

Workshops & Services

I will be running various workshops throughout the year, please check social media for the latest information. Workshops will cover such topics as candle making, learning the tarot, working with herbs and similar subjects.

I will also have carefully selected readers available to offer their services in the shop, including clairvoyants and tarot card readers. Please get in touch or check social media for latest news.
